Eternal Stillness

This collection is currently in development for my senior capstone project, emphasizing sustainability. Prior to formulating my concept, I sought to explore how to create wearable art that accommodates diverse body types. The integration of a corset element provides flexibility in shape and sizing, while the use of smocking allows for both growth and shrinkage.

 

I merged the themes of “frozen in time” and “redirection” to explore structured fabric manipulation in greater depth. Color and shaping are integral to achieving cohesion within this collection; every crease, dent, and contour in each garment is intentionally designed to enhance the overall illusion. My design approach prioritizes creating visual interest through minimalistic fabrics and color palettes, complemented by bold, clean silhouettes. The choice to use casual shirting cottons to construct designer-level garments effectively brought my concept of redirection to life.
